It was an important intervention for livelihood generation activities also. Tangible and intangible cultural heritage on the main stem River Ganga was mapped and made into two voluminous book by INTACH. He started using Ghats along the rivers as hot spots for tourism related activities. He started "Ghats Pe Yoga", "Ghat pe Haats'" and "Ghat pe Aarti" on selected ghats to promote river people connect and also as a way to generate livelihood opportunities for local people. On International Yoga day, 21 June 2022, he started the first "Ghat Pe Yoga" program, encouraging local people to do Yoga on the Ghats. More than 10 lakh people, including CM of Himachal Pradesh, and Dy CM of UP participated in various Yoga Programs organised on the Ghats along the Ganga River banks in the 5 main stem states and New Delhi. Over 535 people participated in the program on the banks of Yamuna River, near the Signature bridge, New Delhi. From this day onwards weekly Yoga programs were taken up regularly by people on some Ghats. This also helped to keep these ghats active and clean. In the international Yoga day of 2023 also many Yoga programs were made by the now active District Ganga Committees. (DGCs started their regular DGC 4M meetings- the monthly meetings of District committees under the chairmanship of DMs in April 2022 and had become a major river-people connecting set-up by June 2023). Under Arth Ganga, youth were identified and sent for training at Paramarth Niketan, Rishikesh to do standardized Ganga Arthis. They were provided with uniforms and accessories. After undergoing training these youth have started Ganga Artis in many ghats, This has helped in increasing the reverence of the river and also generating income to the local youth.
