Over700 year old practices, some very barbaric ones, practised by PothuRajus were put to an end by a innovative and out of the box solution. This bold step, overthrowing the yoke of traditions,   helped them to shed their life of penury and social ostracism and the join the mainstream of life. As a fall-out,it also ended the age-old practice of Joginis in Nizamabad district, which put the life of any young girls into risk and humiliation, who were  dedicated to local goddess at a very young age  and then exploited shamelessly  as common property resources by men of  the village. Pothurajus were the priests ordained to convert young girls to Joginis.  Ending Pothuraju system ended the Jogini system as well…
